3 Judges Seminars
3.1FIFe judges seminars organized by FIFe
Normally FIFe will organize a training seminar for judges in conjunction with the General Assembly. The seminar will be organized on the Saturday after the General Assembly and must be held in at least two FIFe languages.
A Certificate of Attendance will be issued at the end of the Seminar to each judge who has been in attendance for the whole seminar. If a judge, or a student judge, proposes to attend the seminar he must inform the General Secretary at least four weeks before the date of the seminar in order that a Certificate can be prepared. Failure to notify the General Secretary in advance will result in no certificate being issued at the seminar.
3.2 FIFe judges seminars organized by FIFe members
Each FIFe member is permitted to organize a FIFe judges seminar once per year.
The date of the seminar must be approved by the General Secretary and the agenda by the Judges and Standards Commission.
The seminar will be listed in the official show calendar at least 3 months prior to the fixed data and count as an official FIFe judges seminar. The organizer should be mentioned as well as a contact number (telephone, fax, e-mail).
3.3 Participation of student judges
Student judges may participate at such seminars, mentioned in Article 3.1 and 3.2 with reference to article 5.1.14.7.
3.4 Costs of FIFe seminars organized by FIFe
The costs connected with the organization of the Training Seminar in conjunction with the General Assembly will be borne by the FIFe and paid from a special fund drawn from the annual subscriptions paid by the FIFe judges.
The FIFe member on whose territory the Training Seminar is to be held, will provide the necessary cats.
3.5Costs for participating judges
Travel, meals and accommodation costs are at the judge's own expense.
3.6 Roll Call
The General Secretary of FIFe will hold a roll call to check the Judges and Student Judges attending the Training Seminar.
4 Stewards
4.1Duties of a steward
The steward must assist the judge and observe the following:
- present himself in the judging ring wearing an overall;
- be able to remove a cat correctly to and from a cage;
- not leave the judge until judging is completed;
- take reasonable actions to avoid presenting his own cat except at a show where the exhibitors are allowed to present their own cat;
- not make comments or offer opinions about an exhibit;
- with the judge’s permission, to inform the exhibitors of judging results;
- inform the show secretariat if a cage is empty;
- be at least 16 years of age.
4.2Allocation of steward to a judge
Stewards do not have the right to select a particular judge for whom to work.
4.3 Steward certificates
The judge should give the original stewarding certificate directly to the steward.
The stewarding certificate is to be issued in one of the three official FIFe languages, i.e. French, German or English.
The judge must mark on the steward certificate whether it was show where stewards are presenting the cats or a show where the owners are allowed to present the cats themselves.
The show organizer is required to provide the judges with the necessary papers before judging commences.
The show organiser is recommended to use the steward certificate issued by Judges & Standard Commission, which may be adjusted, if needed.
